Dutchess Savours History At 114th Declaration Of Independence Reading FISHKILL, N.Y. - The Village of Fishkill held its 114th annual Declaration of Independence reading on a hot, sunny Monday morning, with a large crowd gathering in front of Van Wyck Hall to soak in the history. Chairman of the Dutchess County Legislature Dale Borchert handled the reading, in front of an appreciative crowd. Dutchess Celebrates Independence Day With Riverside Celebration POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. - It seemed like most of Dutchess County was on the Poughkeepsie waterfront Saturday night, as the city celebrated the Fourth of July with lots of activities prior to the night's highlight - a fireworks display near the Mid Hudson Bridge.
