Danbury Police say they responded to South Street around 3 p.m. on Wednesday, June 18, where they found the rider lying on the sidewalk next to a damaged ATV.  Paramedics rushed them to Danbury Hospital with "critical and life-threatening" injuries. Police ID Chester Man Killed In Head-On Collision In Westbrook Authorities have identified the 63-year-old man who was killed in a head-on collision on Wednesday, June 18, in Westbrook.  Robert Lewis Jones, of Chester, was driving north on Essex Road (Route 153) when a Jeep Wagoneer heading the other direction crash wedith his Nissan Altima just before 6:30 a.m., Connecticut State Police said.  Paramedics rushed him to Shoreline Medical Center in Westbrook, where he died of his injuries.  The 32-year-old Florida man who was behind the wheel of the Jeep suffered minor injuries. Ex-State Trooper Charged In $8K Workers’ Comp Scam: State A former Connecticut State Police Trooper is facing serious charges after authorities say he lied about being injured at work and collected over $8,000 in workers’ compensation benefits. Jose Campos, 32, of Winsted, was arrested Tuesday, June 17, by state inspectors and charged with one count of larceny and one count of making a fraudulent claim or receipt of benefits, the state prosecutor's office said. Driver Suffering Medical Emergency Crashes Into Norwalk Home, Knocks Out Support Structures A driver suffering a medical emergency crashed a pick-up truck through a home in Norwalk on Tuesday, June 17.  The crash was reported around noon at 7 Rockmere Road when the truck crashed through the brick facade and knocked out several support structures.  Norwalk firefighters were able to move some of the debris to get the driver out and into an ambulance that rushed them to Norwalk Hospital. Police ID Man, 40, Found Dead In Abandoned CT Building Waterbury police have identified the body found inside an abandoned building over the weekend as a 40-year-old Torrington man.  Joseph McCarthy was found just before 5:15 p.m. on Sunday, June 15, at a building at 215 Cherry St. in Waterbury, police said.  Waterbury officers said there were no suspicious circumstances and are treating it as an untimely death.  The investigation is ongoing.
