The iconic 75-year-old singer, songwriter, and pianist Billy Joel has just listed his sprawling waterfront estate on the north shore of Long Island for $49.9 million.
Joel bought the estate, which he calls "MiddleSea," in Centre Island, a residential village in Oyster Bay, in 2002. The name is a clever play on words. Yes, it's located by the sea, but "Middle C" is also the first note learned by pianists.

A Powerball second prize — worth $2 million after a Powerplay feature — has been claimed on Long Island.
On Thursday, April 11, the New York State Lottery announced that the Oyster Bay company “Groovy D Limited Liability Company (LLC)” had laid claim to a Powerball Powerplay prize for matching the first five Powerball numbers drawn months earlier.

A Queens man was arraigned on charges including manslaughter for his alleged role in a speeding crash on the Southern State Parkway that killed three people, officials said.
Matthew Whyte, age 28 of Laurelton, Queens, faced his indictment for the Oyster Bay incident on Thursday, Dec. 7, the Nassau County District Attorney announced.
