A New York State Police trooper was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on a highway in upstate New York.
The Schenectady County wreck happened on the westbound Thruway (I-90) in Pattersonville, near Exit 26, at around 12:30 p.m. Friday, June 6, according to New York State Police.

Colleagues and loved ones are mourning the loss of a Department of Transportation employee, longtime fire chief, and beloved grandfather who was killed while overseeing a road project in upstate New York.
Hoosick Falls Fire Chief Robert Bornt, 54, was struck by a vehicle while working as a highway maintenance supervisor on State Route 7 in Pittstown on Thursday, May 29, as Daily Voice previously reported.
Bornt, of Hoosick Falls, suffered critical injuries and was airlifted to Albany Medical Center, where he died the next day, according to New York State Police.
