Drunk Driver Barrels Into Montauk Art Show, Narrowly Missing Security Guards, Police Say
An alleged drunk driver tore through the heart of Long Island's art community, destroying tents and artwork, and narrowly avoiding tragedy.
The harrowing incident happened at the Montauk Art Show, located at Carl Fisher Plaza, at around 3 a.m. Sunday, June 29.
A “heavily intoxicated woman” in an SUV sped through a barricade and crashed into several tents set up for the show, witness Evan Reinheimer recounted on a GoFundMe campaign.
“Some artists lost EVERYTHING,” Reinheimer wrote, adding that two security guards narrowly escaped injury.

A 44-year-old Levittown, PA, motorcyclist was killed in a crash in Lawrence Township, NJ Friday morning, June 13, authorities said.
At 6:48 a.m., officers responded to Franklin Corner Road and Princeton Pike for a report of a motorcycle crash and found the operator, Benjamin Boyers, unconscious at the scene, Lawrence Township police said.

Richard Lee Angel, a 70-year-old East Orange man, was killed while walking on the Garden State Parkway in Irvington on Thursday, June 12, authorities said.
At 4:25 a.m., a Jeep Grand Cherokee and an unknown vehicle were traveling northbound on the Parkway when a crash occurred between both vehicles and Angel, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. Angel was pronounced dead at the scene, Lebron said.
