Man Sentenced For Trafficking Heroin From Fairfield County Deli, Market
A man was sentenced for trafficking heroin from two businesses he operated in Fairfield County.
New Haven County resident Eddy Antonio Torres Morel, age 51, of Meriden, was sentenced on Friday, Sept. 24, to 78 months in prison followed by three years of supervised release, according to Leonard Boyle, acting United States attorney for the District of Connecticut.
He was also ordered to pay a $50,000 fine.

Fairfield County Man Critically Injured After Hit- Run Crash, Police Say
A man is in critical condition after being struck by a hit-and-run driver while crossing a busy Fairfield County roadway.
The crash took place around 7:12 p.m., Tuesday, July 6, in the 1150 block of East Main Street in Bridgeport, Sergeant Gabe Meszaros said.
During the incident, a pedestrian identified as William Rodriguez Cruz, age 61, of Bridgeport, was crossing the street when he was struck by a dark-colored SUV traveling at a high rate of speed south on East Main Street. The vehicle then continued on East Main Street evading the crash, Meszaros said.

Man Nabbed In Target Parking Lot Robbery, Police Say
A man who allegedly robbed a couple at gunpoint who he met in a Target parking lot to complete an online sale, has been arrested.
Michael Lockhart, 21, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Thursday, Nov. 5, in connection with the Oct. 21 robbery in Ansonia, said Ansonia Police Lieutenant Patrick Lynch.
The arrest was made with search warrants with the assistance of the Bridgeport Police Department, Stratford Police Department, Connecticut State Police Gang Task Force, and the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, Lynch said.

A serious crash between a motorcycle and a vehicle left a Fairfield County man with critical injuries.
Bridgeport Police responded to the crash around 5:33 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, at the intersection of East Main Street and Stillman Street, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran.
According to Gilleran, Ricardo Ruiz, 26, of Bridgeport, was traveling northbound on East Main Street on a blue and white 2013 Yamaha “enduro” style motorcycle.

Two Charged In Hit-Run Of Bridgeport Firefighter
Two people have been arrested in connection with a hit-and-run in June 2019 that left a Bridgeport firefighter seriously injured.
Adrian Cauthen, 33, and Frances Marino, 33, both of Bridgeport, were arrested Thursday, Jan. 23, were charged in connection with hitting the off-duty fireman who was crossing Stratford Avenue when he was hit and left in the roadway, said Bridgeport Police Capt. Kevin Gilleran.
According to Gilleran, Erique McCalla, 46, was crossing Stratford Avenue around 11:18 p.m., June 28, 2019, when he was struck by a vehicle.

Two are men were busted during an apparent "drug deal gone wrong," after police responded to a Text-to-911 call reporting a robbery.
Jeffrey Marroquin, 21, of Colchester, and Hector Rios, 18, of Bridgeport, were arrested around 3:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 2, after police responded to an East Main Street parking lot to investigate the reported robbery, said Scott Appleby, director of the Office of Emergency Management in Bridgeport.

Armed Robbery Suspect Caught In Area Chinese Restaurant, Police Say
A 21-year-old man was arrested for allegedly robbing two women at gunpoint and then running from the scene.
Patrick Geyer, of Bridgeport, was arrested on Tuesday, Aug. 13, after a Bridgeport Police officer tracked him to a Chinese food restaurant following the attack, said Terron Jones, spokesman for the Bridgeport Police Department.
According to Jones, the two women were allegedly robbed around 1:30 p.m. by two men, one which had a gun and took one of the victim's belongings.
