Deadly Apartment Shooting In Rockville Ruled Homicide Nearly A Month Later: Police
A man found dead inside a Maryland apartment last month was murdered, officials confirmed.
Vincent De Porres Young II, 38, of Rockville, was discovered with gunshot wounds on the morning of Saturday, June 14, inside an apartment in the 600 block of Blandford Street, according to the Montgomery County Department of Police.
Officers with Montgomery County Police and Rockville City Police responded just before 8 a.m. that morning to conduct a welfare check.
There, they found Young, who was pronounced dead at the scene.

The heat wave gripping Maryland is so intense that Metro trains were forced to slow down after rail temperatures hit 135 degrees, officials confirmed Tuesday, June 24.
According to WMATA, extreme heat triggered speed restrictions across parts of the system.
“Rail temperatures reached 135 degrees today, and we had to slow our train speeds,” Metro said in a post on X. “Hotter temperatures are expected throughout the rest of the week, so we thank you for your patience, as we work to keep you as safe as possible.”

A Maryland man is behind bars after his mother-in-law was found dead inside a Walkersville home over the weekend, authorities said.
Pavel Obambe, 35, was arrested on Tuesday, June 24, and charged in the killing of Christine Liboula, 68, the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office announced.
Deputies responded just after 10 a.m. Sunday, June 22, to a home in the 8400 block of Foresight Lane for a report of an unconscious person.

A Baltimore man was killed in a car crash on Route 47 in Middle Township on Sunday, June 22, authorities said.
At 9 a.m., officers responded to Route 47 North for a two-car crash after a Hyundai Santa Fe was traveling northbound crossed into a southbound lane and struck a Buick Encore, Middle Township police said.
The driver of the Hyundai, Robert Burch, was pronounced dead at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center-City Division, police said.
