A police officer had his badge and gun revoked after getting arrested for throwing his pregnant wife to the ground, officials say.
Steven Stalzer, an Acton police officer, and veteran, was placed on paid administrative leave after getting arrested in Stow on Saturday, April 29, according to a statement by Acton Interim Police Chief James Cogan.
The officer was charged with domestic assault and battery and assault and battery on a pregnant person. He allegedly pushed his wife, who is five months pregnant, to the ground during an argument inside their shared home in Stow.

Edwin Acevedo, 36, pleaded guilty to one count of conspiracy to commit wire fraud and one count of wire fraud, the US Attorney for Massachusetts said. Both charges carry a potential 20-year prison sentence, the prosecutor noted.
