Carnival Trailer Catches Fire, Snarls Traffic On I-87 In Monsey (Update) A carnival trailer fire temporarily blocked lanes and caused traffic to back up on the New York Thruway in Rockland County.  The blaze happened on Monday, June 30, around noon on Interstate 87 northbound in Monsey just after the Spring Valley toll barrier, according to 511NY traffic reports.  According to New York State Police, a 2017 Volvo tractor-trailer had been traveling in the right lane when the carnival trailer caught fire on the right shoulder after its brakes overheated.  The truck then detached the trailer to avoid being damaged.
