Wanaque Welcoming New Board Of Education Member
WANAQUE, N.J. -- Wanaque will add a new Board of Education member at its reorganization ceremony on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at 7 p.m. at Wanaque Elementary School. Jason Velante was elected to fill an unexpired term during the November election. "My wife and I would never have guessed our kids would be watching their father get sworn in as as a Board of Education member in Wanaque," Velante wrote on Facebook. Incumbents Robert Barnhardt, Dana Imbasciani and Angela Demetriou will also be sworn in at the ceremony. The school is located at 1 First Street.

Woodland Park Library Launches Cooking Club
WOODLAND PARK, N.J. -- The Alfred H. Baumann Free Public Library will hold the first meeting of its cooking club, Bon Appetit, On Wednesday, Jan. 20, at 6:30 p.m. Each member of the club will bring in a dish and a recipe for the rest of the group to try. The library also has a cookbook collection that participants can browse through. Subsequent meetings of the club will be held on the third Wednesday of each month. Westport Reduces Winter Hours For Yard Waste Site
WESTPORT, Conn. -- Director of Public Works Stephen Edwards has announced that the Yard Waste Site located at 180 Bayberry Lane will operate under reduced hours as of Monday, Jan. 11. The new schedule will be Tuesdays and Thursdays, from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., and Saturdays from 7 a.m. to noon. The new schedule will be in effect until March 7, when regular hours will resume. Christmas trees will be accepted from Westport residents at the Yard Waste Site during its hours of operation.
