Country music legend Dolly Parton died Tuesday, Aug. 25, in Nashville, Tennessee, at age 80, her nephew Brian Seaver announced in a video posted to Parton’s Instagram account. She died peacefully surrounded by loved ones, according to the family.
Parton’s death came after a period of health problems that had forced her to step back from several public appearances. A cause of death has not been released.

Pierre Michel Formosa, 68, died on Monday, Aug. 17, after he and a traveling companion got stuck in mud near Queen of Sheba Mine Road, the National Park Service said in a news release on Friday, Aug. 21.
