Officers from the Red Hook Police Department conducted a traffic stop of 42-year-old Tivoli resident John Ostoyic at approximately 10:30 p.m. on Saturday night on North Broadway after he committed a violation.

During the stop, Ostoyic allegedly provided police with a fake name, was found to have more than 15 suspensions on his license and was in possession of heroin.

Ostoyic was arrested and charged with a felony count of aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, as well as criminal possession of a controlled substance and criminal impersonation, both misdemeanors. Ostoyic was arraigned in Red Hook Village Court and remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail. He is due back in court later this year to answer the charges.
