A frightening off-field ordeal has forced one of the NFL's most prominent coaches to pull back as a new season begins.
The San Francisco 49ers announced on Saturday, July 25, that head coach Kyle Shanahan suffered non-life-threatening injuries in a car crash and will have a limited role at the start of training camp.
The crash occurred on Tuesday, July 14, near Shanahan's home in Los Gatos, California, when his vehicle collided with an SUV, the San Francisco Chronicle reported.
