Darien Man Arrested Twice Over Weekend DARIEN, Conn. -- A Darien man was arrested twice this weekend after police said he was first involved in a domestic incident and then later violated the conditions of his release. Officers were dispatched to a home in Darien shortly after 1 a.m. Saturday on a report of an assault in progress. When they arrived on scene, they saw that one of the participants, 58-year-old James Ward, was lying on a couch in the living room and appeared to be heavily intoxicated, incoherent and irritable, according to police. First Selectman Julia Pemberton posted on the town's Facebook page Saturday afternoon that the swastika had been found carved into the tree.
