Wanted Man Lured Child Into His Truck Outside Of Waterbury Park, Sexually Assaulted Her: Police
Police say a Connecticut man kidnapped a child younger than 13 from a New Haven playground and sexually assaulted her in his truck.
Michael Dewitt, age 45, of Seymour, faces multiple felonies from the alleged incident and is being held on a $1.25 million bond, Waterbury Police said.
The girl told police that she was playing at Fulton Park on Wednesday, Oct. 9, around 7 p.m. when a man, later identified as Dewitt, lured her into his truck, where he sexually assaulted her, authorities said. The girl fought her way free and ran to get help.

Machete-Wielding Man Screaming At Strangers Shot, Killed: Police
A 56-year-old Connecticut man was shot and killed after shouting at strangers in an apartment building and waving a machete, authorities said.
John Reynolds, of New Haven, was killed around 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 4, in the Bella Vista Apartments at 321 Eastern St. in New Haven, police said.
Several people called 911 to report Reynolds was banging on apartment doors and waving a machete, authorities said.
When police arrived, Reynolds had been shot and killed by a resident following a fight, officials said. He died at the scene.

Police believe that a 47-year-old Connecticut man forced his way into a New Haven County home on Thursday morning, Sept. 12, and fatally shot his ex-wife before he turned the gun on himself.
New Haven resident Miguelina Lebron, age 45, of Ansonia, was found shot repeatedly at her home on Westfield Avenue, Ansonia police said. Nearby lay the body of her ex-husband Yanis Tavarez, of Bridgeport, with a gunshot wound to the head.
