Duo Extorts Thousands From Hudson Valley Business Owner Using Threats Of Libel, DA Says
Two Hudson Valley residents are accused of extorting a business owner out of thousands of dollars.
Orange County residents Ally Thueson, age 32, and Elizabeth Sloanhoffer, age 33, both of Montgomery, were arrested by the county’s White Collar Crime Task Force on Tuesday, June 4, on suspicion of grand larceny and coercion.
According to prosecutors, Thueson and Sloanhoffer threatened to post false statements about Thueson’s employer online unless they were paid $9,000. The employer reportedly paid the money to avoid harm to their business.

In another win for Republicans, Marc Molinaro has prevailed over Democrat Josh Riley in New York’s 19th Congressional District, NBC News projects.
Molinaro, the Dutchess County executive, was leading Riley 51.1 to 48.9 percent with 99 percent of the vote counted as of Wednesday evening, Nov. 9.

Hey, all of you hundreds, maybe thousands of extras who worked on the upcoming series "Poker Face," which was filmed throughout the Hudson Valley, you'll get to see yourself on TV pretty soon.
Peacock announced last week the 10-part series starring Natasha Lyonne will air on Peacock on Thursday, Jan. 26.
The murder-mystery series, which was based out of Newburgh’s Umbra studios, was filmed throughout the Hudson Valley for much of this year with locations in Dutchess, Orange, Putnam, and Ulster counties, according to Laurent Rejto, director of the Hudson Valley Film Commission.

Arizona Man Wanted For Violent Crimes Apprehended In Hudson Valley
A fugitive wanted for violent crimes in Arizona has been nabbed in the Hudson Valley, according to police.
In Orange County, officers with the Town of Crawford Police Department were first informed on Tuesday, Aug. 9 that a man with three separate arrest warrants out of Arizona was staying at a home in Crawford.
On Wednesday, Aug. 10, officers responded to the home, but were unable to find the man, police said.
A short time later, the suspect walked into the town’s police station and was arrested without incident.
Police identified the man as Casey Espinoza, age 43, of Pima County, Arizo…
