Man Who Sexually Assaulted Young Girl At Large: Somerset County Prosecutor A 38-year-old Somerset resident is at large after he sexually assaulted a girl for four years authorities said. From 2018 through 2022, Cipriano Diaz sexually assaulted a girl under the age of 13, the Somerset County Prosecutor's Office said. The assaults occurred in Franklin Township, authorities said. A warrant has been issued for Diaz's arrest, authorities said. Diaz is 6'3" and weighs 210 pounds. He has black hair, brown eyes and a face scar on his left cheek. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to contact 908-231-7100

The decision to close was made as a result of a gas leak in the Administration/Hall of Records building at 10 Court St., which forced an evacuation, Morris County Government said on Facebook. All essential staff and all emergency response personnel are working, Morris County said.

Orange Man Seriously Injured After Truck Crashes Into Car On Route 78: Njsp A 27-year-old Orange man was seriously injured after a vehicle was struck by a tractor-trailer on Route 78 on the morning of Friday, April 5, authorities said. At 5:13 a.m. on Route 78 west in Newark, a Chevrolet passenger vehicle was stopped in the right lane due to a previous crash when it was truck by a Freightliner truck, Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police said. The passenger of the Chevrolet was taken to an area hospital with serious injuries, Lebron said. The crash remains under investigation, Lebron said.

Ground Stop Issued For Newark Airport Following Earthquake Departures at Newark International Airport are grounded following a 4.8 earthquake that hit New Jersey on Friday, April 5. The order was issued by the Federal Aviation Administration at 11:05 a.m. and runs until 12:30 p.m. for departing flights. AirTran service at the airport is also temporarily suspended, though shuttle buses are available at terminals and stations. New York Gov. Kathy Hochul said the ground stop, which was also issued for John F. Kennedy International Airport, was in case of aftershocks. Arrivals are delayed 45 minutes according to the FAA.
