A stretch of Route 44 is closed in Pleasant Valley as a result of a two-alarm fire at the Pleasant Valley Library.
The closure is between West Road and North Avenue, with traffic backed up to South Avenue at 8 a.m. on Tuesday.
Motorists should take the following alternate routes:
- Westbound Route 44: to South Road to Freedom Road (Route 47) to Overlook Road to De Garmo Road back to Route 44.
- Eastbound Route 44: to De Garmo Road to Overlook Road to Freedom Rd (Route 47) to South Avenue back to Route 44.
