Firefighters from several departments, including Red Hook, Rhinebeck and Ulster, helped battle the blaze that gutted the eight businesses at the shopping center, along with residential apartments. Firefighters were called to the scene at around 5 p.m. Tuesday, Time Warner Cable News reports.

One firefighter had to be treated for smoke inhalation. Though they are still searching for a cause, fire officials say it appears to have started at Rusty's restaurant, Time Warner Cable News says.
