Eljay Danti-Murray, 21, was charged with assault, menacing, criminal possession of a weapon, and criminal mischief, after troopers responded to a report of a domestic dispute around 1:30 p.m., said Trooper Melissa McMorris.

Following an investigation troopers found that Danti-Murray physically assaulted the victim, causing minor injuries. He also threatened the victim with a kitchen knife, making her fear for her safety, McMorris said.

Danti-Murray was remanded to the Dutchess County Jail in lieu of $2,500 cash bail or $5,000 bond. Danti-Murray is scheduled to reappear in Rhinebeck Court on Sept. 14.
