The incident took place around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday when the City of Poughkeepsie Police began receiving numerous 911 calls reporting shots fired and a man down in the area of 82 Academy St., said Det. Lt. Matt Clark.

Responding officers found a 36-year-old City of Poughkeepsie resident shot multiple times. The victim was transported to an area hospital where he was treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries, Clark said.

Shortly after officers arrived on the scene, several people believed to be involved in the shooting were seen running into an apartment at 62 Montgomery St., Clarks said.

Officers responded there and detained four people and secured the apartment they were seen running into. The four were brought to police headquarters and a search warrant was obtained for the apartment, he added.

A search of the apartment revealed a handgun and a quantity of heroin, Clark said.

The four arrested, all from New York City:  Quran Seignious, 27, Nemai Riviere, 28, Charles Erskine, 21, and Odell Manning, 39.

They were all charged with criminal possession of a weapon and possession of a controlled substance. Manning was also charged with being an absconder from parole.

All were held pending arraignment.

It is believed another person also involved in the shooting fled the area and may be back in New York City. Anyone with information on this shooting is asked to call the City of Poughkeepsie Police at 845-451-7577.
