VAILS GATE, N.Y. -- Family members are still trying to come to terms with the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man at a Vails Gate supermarket that investigators call random and unprovoked, according to a News 12 report.

Funeral services are planned for Friday for Michael Kohus of Highland Falls. Meanwhile, Andrew Goodenough is facing a murder charge, and family members and police say they don't think the two even knew each other, says News 12.

Kohus was stabbed multiple times in the neck Saturday at ShopRite in Vails Gate and later died at the hospital, News 12 reports.
