RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- Aldo Sussi, of Rhinebeck, died Dec. 24. He was 96.
He was born March 28, 1919, to Modesto and Delfina Sussi in Manhattan. He spent most of his childhood and adult life living in Astoria and working in Manhattan.
Due to his father's death when he was 12, he started working after school for Manhattan Express & Trucking owned by his uncle Albert Fenaroli. Upon his brother Louis' death, he inherited the company and continued working in trucking and shipping until he was 68.
He is survived by Rita (Fenaroli) Sussi, his wife of 69 years; his daughter Margaret Gosiewski and son-in-law Michael; his son Edward Sussi and daughter-in-law Ruth; his grandson Michael Gosiewski and his wife Carrie; his grandson Mark Gosiewski; his granddaughter Elizabeth Sussi and fiance Benjamin Sesser; his grandson Adam Sussi and his wife Shira; his great grandson Henry Gosiewski; his brother-in-law Arthur Fenaroli; his sisters-in-law Serafina Fenaroli, Rosemarie Walti and Diana Delgrosso; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Wednesday at the Dapson-Chestney Funeral Home, Rhinebeck. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon at the Good Shepherd Church in Rhinebeck.
Memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Northern Dutchess Hospital, Rhinebeck or The Starr Library, Rhinebeck.
