MidHudson Regional Hospital in Poughkeepsie confirmed that Liam O’Farrell, 18, was released to his home on Monday, said hospital spokeswoman Angela Mather.

The accident occurred when Eric Johnson, 17, of Red Hook, along with O’Farrell, were traveling eastbound on Feller Newmark Road, approximately a quarter mile east of Route 9, when Johnson lost control while passing another vehicle, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office.

Both teens received life-threatening injuries. Johnson was taken by helicopter to Albany Medical Center. He is listed in stable condition, said hospital spokewoman Caitlin O'Callaghan.

Capt. John Watterson said the accident is currently under investigation by the Sheriff's Office Crash Investigation Unit.
