Man Charged With Murder Of Woman In Pleasant Valley Game Club Shooting

A  man has been charged with second-degree murder in connection with a shooting at the Pleasant Valley Trout and Game Club, according to the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office,

Town of Poughkeepsie resident Rosario Curcio, 70, was charged with the murder of Lana Florio, 56, also of the Town of Poughkeepsie after deputies responded to the club on Salt Point Turnpike around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday in response to a report of a shooting, said Capt. John Watterson.

When officers arrived, they found Florio critically injured with a gunshot wound to the head. Florio was pronounced dead at the scene, Watterson said.

Curcio and Florio knew each other, said Watterson.

Curcio is being held at the Dutchess County Jail without bail.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Dutchess County Medical Examiner’s Office, the Dutchess County District’s Attorney’s Office, and the New York State Police.
