Driver Hospitalized After Deer Slams Into Car On I-84

A motorist on I-84 was hospitalized after a deer went through the windshield of a car around 7:30 a.m. Friday in Hopewell Junction, according to the East Fishkill Fire District.

The crash occurred in the eastbound lane near Lime Kiln Road, officials said.

When firefighters arrived they found the deer completely through the windshield and a driver with minor injuries. 

East Fishkill, Rombout and Moblie Life Support Services responded to help provide aid to the driver and manage rush-hour traffic, said East Fishkill officials.

The unidentified driver was taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries, they added.
