Offender Convicted Of Sexual Contact With Girl Moves In Poughkeepsie

A registered sex offender convicted of having sexual contact with a 12-year-old girl has reported a move in Dutchess County.

The New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services issued an alert on Tuesday to Dutchess residents regarding the residency of 62-year-old Allan Willig, who has moved to an apartment on Maple Street in Poughkeepsie.

The Division of Criminal Justice Services has assigned Willig as a Level 2 threat, which means he is at "moderate risk of a repeat offense."

According to the Division of Criminal Justice Services, Willig had deviate sexual intercourse and contact with his victim in 2003 before being arrested by the Dutchess County Sheriff's Office. He was convicted of first-degree criminal sexual act in 2005 and sentenced to 10 years in state prison. He is now under the jurisdiction of the Poughkeepsie City Police Department.
