From early summer through mid-September, art exhibits and performances will be presented, including two weekends of live performances spanning July 15-24, featuring music, dance, and author readings including songsmiths, Klezmer, chamber music, ukelele and a curated show “Lost/Found” in July.
An opening reception will be held on the grand front porch of St. Margaret’s from 5-7 p.m. Friday. Guests are encouraged to bring a blanket, listen to live music, enjoy snacks and fare from local establishments, and tour the grounds and interior of St. Margaret’s. Then the building will be open for back-to-back entertainment and a large art exhibit from noon-5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday and the following weekend, July 23 and 24.
The theme of "Lost/Found" relates to the repurposing of the St. Margaret's building and to the nurturing of abandoned girls who were sheltered and schooled there. Story time for children and a book-signing by Iza Trapani as well as Irish dancing and family music improvisation will be featured on Family Day, Saturday, July 23.
All events this summer are free and open to the public. For details about times and events go to this link or email redhookcan@gmail.com.
