Dutchess Chamber Breakfast Features DCC President

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y.-- Pamela Edington, president of Dutchess Community College, will be the keynote speaker at the Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce’s next Contact Breakfast on Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel.

Guest will include representatives from the Epilepsy Foundation of Northeastern New York Inc. and Children’s Home of Poughkeepsie, among others.

Donations of non-perishables will be collected in a food drive to benefit the Workforce Development Center. 

Edington is an experienced educator and administrator with more than 30 years of service at community colleges in Connecticut and Massachusetts.

Edington assumed the presidency of Dutchess Community College in August 2014. 

Among her commitments, she wants to increase the number of Dutchess students completing a degree, develop new programs to meet the region's workforce demands and expand the service-learning program she started, said a news release.

The breakfast will be followed by a seminar, "Finding Funds to Grow" led by nonprofit consultant Susan J. Ragusa.

The 7:30 p.m. breakfast is at the Poughkeepsie Grand Hotel, 40 Civic Center Plaza.
