The event, which is to kick off at the library, 7444 S. Broadway, is to begin at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 25, according to organizers, who said the walk route will move right through the village.
The Dutchess County SPCA is among the organizations expected to attend the walk, according to organizers, who said the group will be on hand to show case adoptable dogs and collect donations for much-needed shelter items.
People attending the free event are urged to bring their own dogs, which should be kept on leashes, according to organizers.
“This is a nice opportunity to start off an often overwrought holiday season by getting outside with family and neighbors while treating our most devoted best friends to some species-specific socialization,” said a statement from the Red Hook Library.
