HUNTER, N.Y. -- Hunter Mountain will be acquired by Missouri-based Peak Resorts for $36.8 million.
Peak Resorts plans on continuing the traditions the Slutzky families have built.
“Hunter Mountain, has become one of the iconic ski resorts in the Northeastern United States," said Timothy D. Boyd, president and chief executive officer of Peak Resorts. "Its reputation as one of the premier snowmaking resorts in the East makes it a perfect fit for our portfolio and strategy."
Over the summer Hunter Mountain completed more than $1 million dollars in upgrades with new snow guns and a state-of-the-art compressor to improve snow-making efficiency.
The sale is expected to be completed by year's end.
