DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. -- The rainy weather that has overspread Dutchess this week will give way to bright sunny skies and warmer temperatures Wednesday and Thursday before a burst of winter-like conditions that could be accompanied by some snow.

Wednesday's high will be around 55 degrees with the high on Thursday in the low-50s.

But colder air will result in the chance of snow late Thursday night through late Friday morning in Dutchess, according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight chance of snow before 2 a.m. Friday, then a chance of rain and snow between 2 a.m. and 5 a.m., then a chance of snow after 5 a.m. and continuing until 11 a.m. Friday.

Accumulation should be less than a half-inch before a midday changeover to rain Friday as the high temperature climbs to around 40.

Rain is likely early Saturday morning followed by a chance of showers during a mostly cloudy day in which the high temperature will be in the mid-40s.
