Both Monday, July 3 and Independence Day on Tuesday, July 4 should be storm-free with mostly sunny skies. Earlier forecasts had called for a chance of thunderstorms both days.

Storms are possible, however, for the three days prior to that, starting Friday afternoon, according to the National Weather Service.

Isolated showers and thunderstorms could hit parts of the area through 10 p.m. Friday.

The storm chance returns Saturday, mainly after noon, on what will be a partly sunny day with a high in the low-80s. The storm chance continues through late Saturday night.

Sunday will be partly sunny and warmer, with a high in the upper-80s and the possibility of storms arriving mainly after 3 p.m.

Monday and Tuesday (Independence Day) will be picture perfect days with high temps each day in the mid-80s and plenty of sunshine.
