Moderate to heavy rainfall that could cause flooding will continue in the Hudson Valley before Improving Friday afternoon.

A Flood Warning and Flood Advisory are in effect for parts of the Hudson Valley late Friday morning into early Friday afternoon,  the National Weather Service said.

A Flood Warning has been issued for urban areas and small streams in Northern Westchester and Rockland County until 1:15 p.m.

A Flood Advisory is in effect for Central and Southern Westchester until 1:30 p.m. and Putnam until noon.

No watch or advisory has been issued for Dutchess, but rain of up to one-half inch is possible through early Friday afternoon.

Doppler radar indicated heavy rain that will cause flooding with up to 2 inches of rain possible. Another inch of rain is expected by early Friday afternoon.

Excessive runoff from heavy rainfall will cause flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as other drainage areas and low-lying spots.

Some locations that will experience flooding include New City, Ossining, Peekskill, Monsey, Nanuet, Haverstraw, Tarrytown and Mount Kisco, the National Weather Service said.

Rain will continue through around 1 p.m. with a thunderstorm possible. There is a chance of showers between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m.

Saturday will be partly sunny with showers possible after 11 a.m. The high temperature will be in the low-80s.
