Busted: Feds Charge NJ Pair With Selling Five Guns, Fentanyl, Coke to CI
Two Newark men were nabbed after illegally selling five guns to an undercover operative working for the government, authorities said.
One of them, Carlo M. De Leon De Jesus, 26, peddled four of the firearms and also sold fentanyl and cocaine, U.S. Attorney for New Jersey Philip R. Sellinger said.
The Bureau of Alcohol, Firearms and Explosives conducted three controlled buys from DeJesus from this past July through September, the U.S. attorney said.

Newark Men Sold Guns To Undercover Informants: Feds
Two men from Newark were federally charged with dealing unlicensed firearms, trafficking them across state lines, federal prosecutors announced on Tuesday, Oct. 3.
From July to September of this year, Carlo De Jesus, a 26-year-old Newark resident sold four firearms, including two rifles and a semi-automatic handgun to undercover law enforcement, U.S. Attorney Philip Sellinger said. De Jesus also sold fentanyl and cocaine to law enforcement, Sellinger said.
De Jesus sold the firearms to an undercover agent who said he lived in Connecticut, Sellinger said.

Several pounds of marijuana and 13 firearms were seized last weekend in Newark, including one defaced firearm from a 13-year-old boy, authorities said.
The boy was arrested on the 600 block of 15th Avenue when police observed him with a loaded and defaced firearm on Friday, April 22, Newark Public Safety Director Brian O'Hara said.

Authorities are seeking three men each wanted in a separate Essex County homicide.
Warrants have been issued for the arrests of the three men, believed to have fled from New Jersey, Acting Essex County Prosecutor Theodore N. Stephens, II, and Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.

Three men are wanted for attacking three young people with paintball guns earlier this month in Newark, authorities said.
Surveillance tapes captured Justin Baldwin, 39, Kahyri Perry, 26, and Hassan Dunn, 27, ambushing the youngsters at the at the Georgia King Village between 6:10 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., Sept. 14, Newark Public Safety Director Anthony F. Ambrose said.
Baldwin -- described as 5 feet 8 inches, and 180 pounds with brown eyes and black hair -- was seen handing out the paintball guns, Ambrose said.
