Female Pedestrian Killed In Spring Valley Hit-Run ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- Spring Valley police discovered a female pedestrian dead after receiving calls of a person on the ground. The incident took place around 1:40 a.m., Sunday when officers responded to the area of Commerce Street and South Myrtle Avenue for a person lying on the ground, said Officer Matthew Galli on Tuesday afternoon. Upon arrival, officers found a female lying on the ground, unresponsive. Further investigation showed that the woman was hit by a vehicle which fled the scene of the accident, he said. Estimate Made For 2020 Toll Hike On New Tappan Zee Bridge Tolls on the new Tappan Zee Bridge may have to hit the $10 mark to pay for the $4 billion construction costs, according to a report from a non-partisan watchdog group.Released Friday by the Citizens Budget Commission in New York City, the report found that once tolls are unfrozen in 2020, tolls could hit $10 roundtrip -- up from $5 -- to pay for the new three-mile bridge's construction. Nypd Officer From Patterson Accused Of Exposing Himself To Pre-Teen An NYPD officer from the Hudson Valley who had been the subject of a manhunt was arrested Tuesday in Manhattan for allegedly exposing himself to two girls in the Bronx, said the NYPD. Officer Adam Fridson, who lives in Yonkers and owns a home in Patterson, has been suspended after he was arrested after the department put out a call to the public for help in identifying a man who flashed the two girls, 12 and 7, in front of a funeral home, the NYPD said. New Patrol Boat Christened In Rockland Family members and law enforcement from across the county joined together on Monday with the Rockland County Sheriff's Office to officially christened their new patrol boat, in honor of the late Capt. Matthew J. McCune. The 31-foot-patrol boat is the newest in the department's marine unit in which McCune was once a member. Woman Spots Bear At Dutchess Steakhouse A Mahopac woman got the greeting of her life when she went to meet her family for dinner at the Amenia Steakhouse and was met by a bear digging through a dumpster instead, according to the Poughkeepsie Journal. Michelle DeKleine told the Journal she pulled into the parking lot around 4:30 p.m., Sunday and saw the bear digging through the restaurant's dumpsters. Dutchess Woman Gave False ID During Traffic Stop, Police Say A Poughkeepsie woman who provided police with a fake identity during a traffic stop was arrested after her deception was uncovered, according to Town of Lloyd Police.Nicole M. Tomitz, 30, was charged with falsifying business records, criminal impersonation and aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle on Oct. 10, said Lt. James Janso. ROCKLAND COUNTY, N.Y. -- More than 20 homes had to be evacuated early Monday when a high-pressure gas main was hit during work in the area sending gas shooting into the air, said the West Haverstraw Fire Department.
