Maureen Myers has a number of messages she wants to convey to young student-athletes, but among them is this: put down your phones and computers, go outside, and play.

Myers, who grew up in Brooklyn, where she attended Bishop Ford High running track and cross country, went on to Manhattan College, where she continued to run.

She was athletic director for nine years at Nazareth High in Brooklyn, and is currently in her first year as the Assistant AD for the East Fishkill district. Kurt Jessman (former Jay AD) is now the District AD, overseeing Jay, RCK, Van Wyck and Wappingers Junior High, while Myers takes care of Jay and Van Wyck athletics.

Watch the video to see an interview with Myers about what she loves about her work, and some of the challenges HS student-athletes face today.
