Last Sunday, the Hyde Park Presidents notched a 19-12 overtime win against the Wappingers Falls Indians at Roy C. Ketchum High School.
Going into that game, the team was second in the entire Taconic Youth Football League, with a 5-1-1 record.
"They have demonstrated strong skill, spirit, and dedication to their team and to the game," said team spokeswoman Patricia Langenau.
The team consists of Dominic Stanton, Jaden Williams, Caidon Bailey, Jackson Rexhouse, Frank Tomlins, David Troue, Malachi Moore, Terrance Post, Rahjer Thomas Jr., Devin Parisella, Issa Kakish, Said Kakish, Owen Rose, Rogerrio Rodriquez, Stephen Lake, Gian Veach and Peyton McFarland.
The team's volunteer coaches are Jeff Kakish, Joseph Kakish, John McFarland, Sam Moore, Darryll Reilly Jr., Kevin Rose and Howie Troue.
The Hyde Park Youth Football & Cheer organization is part of the competitive TYFC, which is a member of the American Youth Football organization. AYF is the world's largest youth football and cheer organization, with over 1 million participants in all 50 states and 13 countries.
TYFL was formed in February 2012, and it consists of 12 member organizations located in Westchester, Putnam and Dutchess counties. Hyde Park joined the Taconic League two years ago.
"It is truly amazing that our teams have become recognized as some of the most competitive in the league during such a short time," Langenau said.
