Arlington Football Team Looking To Flourish Under New Head Coach Morano

ARLINGTON, N.Y. - The Arlington High football team is coming off a respectable season - the Admirals went 5-4 last fall - but Arlington is certainly hoping to get deeper into the playoffs in 2016.

Daily Voice talks to Admirals football coach Mike Morano and senior team leaders Jordan Valerius and Alex Maier about the upcoming season.

Last season's team ended its postseason hopes with a loss to John Jay of East Fishkill in a first-round game.

Dom DeMatteo, who coached the team for nine years, stepped down as coach after last season (he's now at Nyack), and Mike Morano, in his 16th year with the program, takes over.

Arlington is set to open the 2016 season Friday, Sept. 2 at Carmel at 7 p.m.
