Farrell, who previously served as deputy superintendent for a month, was hired as assistant superintendent of human resources and professional development last week.
In August, Farrell said she was considering the district for lost wages after the district abolished her position a month after hiring her. Farrell's position had been approved with the support of two lame-duck school board members and her removal had been supported by two new board members.
The board voted 3-2 to create the assistant superintendent of human resources position at the same meeting where Farrell's position was eliminated.
