HYDE PARK, N.Y. -- The Culinary Institute of America's senior resident assistants recently organized almost 100 students to make peanut butter and jelly sandwiches for a Manhattan soup kitchen.
The students and resident assistants made and wrapped more than 3,000 sandwiches in less than an hour on assembly-line tables in The Egg student dining venue.
The sandwiches were delivered the following morning to The Bowery Mission.
J.M. Smucker Company donated Jif peanut butter and Smucker's jelly and Bimbo Bakeries USA donated Sara Lee bread for the cause.
