To the editor:
Republicans have dominated Dutchess County government for many years. There is a way to move toward more balanced county government: Make sure you vote on November 7.
There are two great candidates for county-wide office. Robin Lois is running for Comptroller and will be an independent voice safeguarding our tax dollars. She brings 30 years of experience as a professional in the field of accounting, finance, and business. Pine Plains Town Justice Christi Acker is running for Supreme Court Justice. Her legal career has spanned almost 25 years and includes work as a judge, court attorney, and a litigator in both trial and appellate-level courts. Endorsed by Law Enforcement, Firefighters, and Labor unions, she is the only candidate in this race receiving the highest rating from the Independent Judicial Election Qualification Commission and four local bar associations screening committees.
For Rhinebeck and Clinton voters, vote for Joel Tyner who is one of only 7 Democrats in the 25 seat Dutchess County Legislature.
And finally, for Rhinebeck voters, elect the terrific team of Supervisor Elizabeth Spinzia, Town Board Members Chauncey Walker and Brennan Kearney, and Highway Superintendent Barry Sherrod.
