Dear Editor:

Fact: There were 20 of us waiting for Carbonaro to show up at Clinton Town Hall to debate me Oct. 24th-- and 30 of us waiting for Carbonaro to show up at Rhinebeck Town Hall to debate me Oct. 26th-- but she wouldn't come out to either one (unlike Tom Traudt, who two years ago debated me openly twice (without a moderator no less) at both Rhinebeck and Clinton Town Halls).

Fact: Since July 21st I've sent four polite emails to Carbonaro asking debates-- noting these dates open for Rhinebeck Town Hall-- August 2, 3, 4, 18, 24, 25, 26, 28, 30, 31; September 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 22, 23, 24, 26, 28, 29, 30; October 1, 3, 4, 6, 13, 14, 15, 20, 21, 24, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30-- and at Clinton Town Hall-- August 2, 6, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 16, 17, 20, 22, 23, 26, 27, 29, 30; September 1, 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 9, 10, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 20, 21, 22, 24, 26, 27, 29; October 4, 6, 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 14, 15, 18, 19, 21, 22, 24, 25, 28, 29, 30, 31.

Fact re: Aug. 2017 Clinton Town Board meeting-- many local GOP and Dems who saw what happened have empathized with me about senseless bullying of me that night (after I had been complementary to Town Clerk)-- and: attention Mr. Gannon-- I pay plenty of property taxes through my rent with my wife. Period.

Fact: I have successfully worked across party lines-- circulating a letter this spring for Dutchess to sue opioid manufacturers (months before county did), spearheading effort for county Crisis Stabilization Center, County Historian, Small Business Registry, EV charging stations, styrofoam take-out ban, zero-waste parks, farm-to-table in our county departments-- and $285,000 for Thompson-Mazzarella Park.

Fact: I launched effort locally to stop AC power line “upgrade” boondoggle in Clinton, hosted forums with Scenic Hudson and Riverkeeper to stop barges on Hudson. and organized 20 Rhinebeck repair cafes-- http://www.KeepJoel.org .

Yours,

Joel Tyner
