Nesbitt, a Dutchess County legislator who represents the Town of Poughkeepsie, announced her resignation Friday. Nesbitt, a Republican, is in her second term representing District 1.
The town board will pick Nesbitt's replacement and are accepting applications until Friday at 4 p.m. Nesbitt, who took office when she was 19, told the Poughkeepsie Journal, she could no longer give 110 percent to the job.
