Dutchess County Executive Marcus J. Molinaro, who announced the grants, said the funding adds to the quality of life in the county.
“CDBG funding awards have made positive impacts on communities throughout Dutchess County – making critical infrastructure improvements and handicapped accessibility projects possible," Molinaro said. "These projects enhance the quality of life by making our communities more inclusive and accessible for some of the most vulnerable members of our community.”
Funding for the CDBG Program is provided by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development which benefit low and moderate-income communities.
Dutchess County’s 2017 funding project awards include:
- City of Beacon -- $160,00 for Main Street Sidewalks Project.
- Town of Amenia – $93,500 for Amenia Town Hall Handicapped Accessibility Initiative.
- Town of Beekman – $100,000 for New Senior Recreation Building.
- Town of East Fishkill – $100,000 for Handicapped Accessible Playground Expansion.
- Town of Hyde Park – $150,000 for Pinewoods Road Pedestrian Improvement Project.
- Town and Village of Red Hook – $200,000 for Construction of Challenger Field.
- Town of UnionVale – $82,412 for Tymor Park Handicapped Access.
- Village of Rhinebeck – $100,000 for Legion Park Handicapped Access Improvements.
