Six Democratic candidates took part in a forum Wednesday night at SUNY New Paltz, laying out their platforms and emphasizing their differences with Faso, who represents the 19th District, which includes a portion of Dutchess.
The race is expected to be a competitive one, with the Cook Political Report rating it a toss-up. Faso defeated Zephyr Teachout by eight points in 2016.
Jeff Beals, a Woodstock resident, Dave Clegg, a Woodstock resident, Antonio Delgado, a Rhinebeck resident, Brian Flynn, a Hunter resident, Gareth Rhodes, a Kerhonkson resident and Pat Ryan, a Gardiner resident, are the Democrats who participated in the forum discussing issues like the opioid crisis, funding for secondary education, the environment and sexual harassment.
A primary will be held on June 26.
