Police received a 911 call reporting the stabbing at 6 Hoffman Ave. at about 1:48 a.m. Wednesday, said Detective Lt. Matt Clark of the Poughkeepsie PD.

Responding officers found the city resident stabbed once in the chest. The victim was transported to MidHudson Regional Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later, Clark said.
