Rhinebeck Woman Burned Child With Hot Lightbulb, Police Say

RHINEBECK, N.Y. -- A 31-year-old Rhinebeck woman has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child, state police said Wednesday.

Erica Preciado was charged with the Class A misdemeanor Tuesday after police say she is accused of holding the metal portion of a hot lightbulb to the skin of an 11-year-old child, causing second-degree burn on his arm.

The State Police were assisted by the Dutchess County Child Advocacy Center.

Preciado was released on an appearance ticket directing her to appear in the Town of Rhinebeck Court on June 2.
