DUTCHESS COUNTY, N.Y. - A 45-year-old Dutchess County man is facing a felony charge after allegedly assaulting a developmentally disabled man.
On Wednesday, members of the New York State Police Bureau of Criminal Investigation from Rhinebeck arrested Mohamed Ibrahim, who was charged with a felony count of first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent person.
Troopers in Dutchess launched an investigation into Ibrahim on Friday, May 5, following a complaint that was reported to the New York State Justice Center. According to police, the investigation determined that three days earlier, Ibrahim had kicked a disabled man in the leg causing him to fall.
Police said that Ibrahim’s victim was treated by the nursing staff at a residential facility for people with developmental disabilities. Ibrahim was issued an appearance ticket and is due back in the Town of Red Hook Court later this year.
