Red Hook Woman Grabs, Pulls Child, Police Say

RED HOOK, N.Y. -- A Red Hook woman was charged with endangering the welfare of a child on Thursday after she was seen grabbing and pulling an 11-year-old, according to New York State police.

Dixie Castrejon was charged with endangering a child after hitting and pushing an 11-year-old boy.

Dixie E. Castrejon, 26, is accused of forcibly grabbing and pulling an 11-year-old child by the back of his shirt. As a result of her actions, the child hit his back and head on a cement wall, police said.

Castrejon was processed on the above charge and released. She is due to appear in court on Nov. 3.
